The white wine is cool
tickling the tops of our fingers
as we pull our chairs closer to the fire
share crackers, cheese, autumn’s last grapes
Not only the wine is cool
in the fridge supplies are cut
in voltage absence
Trees may have torn power lines
but they do incite flames.
The wine keeps them warm.
